A Love Story at Thanksgiving Point: Savannah and Jared’s Wedding Journey 

Savannah and Jared’s met on the slopes of Brighton Ski Resort in Utah. From skiing to adventurous dates like surfing in California, scuba diving in Portugal, and mountain biking in Australia, their bond grew stronger with each shared experience. 

Their engagement was equally magical, taking place during the winter in Washington, D.C., at the National Gallery of Art’s pop-up ice skating rink. “Jared wobbled down to one knee while we were skating—I was honestly impressed he didn’t fall—and asked me to marry him!” Savannah shared. Though the initial planning felt overwhelming, the couple was thrilled to organize a celebration with their closest friends and family. 

Savannah always dreamed of an outdoor garden wedding, making Thanksgiving Point a natural choice. “I picked the Loggia because it gives the look of a European garden wedding,” she explained. “It was the perfect size for a medium-sized wedding with just our close family and friends.”

One standout element of Savannah’s experience was the incredible support from Thanksgiving Point’s wedding team. “We loved our fairy godmother on the day of the wedding,” Savannah said. “She was always willing to help alleviate any wedding day stress and could foresee a need before it arose. She truly was such a calming presence that I needed during the day.” 

For Savannah, walking down the aisle was the moment where everything became real. “It’s a moment you dream of as a little girl,” she said, reflecting on how surreal it felt. 

During the reception, the heartfelt toasts and speeches stood out. “There were a lot of laughs and tears,” Savannah shared. “It was sweet to realize how many people had gone through our dating journey with us and were there for the highs and lows.” 

The couple and their guests were blown away by the quality of the food. “Everything was so fresh and yummy,” Savannah said. The cheesecake, in particular, was a crowd favorite, with multiple guests calling it the best they’d ever had. Savannah herself loved the carrots and mashed potatoes.

Savannah and Jared included a special display table featuring photos of their parents and grandparents with their significant others. “It was a way to celebrate the love stories that came before ours and all the examples of love we’ve had in our lives,” Savannah explained. This thoughtful addition added a meaningful layer to their celebration. 

When asked for advice, Savannah wholeheartedly recommended Thanksgiving Point as a wedding venue. “The space is breathtaking, the food was delicious, and the staff is very helpful,” she said.
